If the definition of karma is, the relationship between a person's mental or physical action and the consequences following that action, is it not possible that the consequence might just be as simple as living with themselves.
Maybe there is no big lesson for them, other than having to deal with what they consistently bring to the table. And even if they are unable to recognise or take accountability for their dysfunction, the discord that is their normal may just be their karma.
I don’t personally want to see anyone suffer, even those that I feel have done me wrong. Yes I would like them to be accountable, but I have no desire for any type of revenge. I really do believe that living with consequences is retribution enough.
I have to believe that most people know when they have wronged another. Even if they profess innocence, on some level they know their sins. The outward story might be one of defence, but inwardly carrying deceptive truths has to eat away at them.
True peace of mind comes from authenticity and personal growth. If you are happy to revel in dysfunctional behaviour, then it only seems logical that the negativity you draw to yourself will be indefinite. Maybe that’s the karma.
I’ve been dealt a few shitty hands in life, I’d like to think that’s just unfortunate. Because if I was to view it as karma, I don’t think the my punishments would fit my crimes.
For me a I see my karma as the beautiful things that I have been granted in life. The surroundings, the blessings, the people, that I have been graced with to navigate the difficulties presented.
So I guess Karma is subjective. It’s what you perceive it to be.
