From yesterday’s post….There was always going to be the ‘what about’ men comment.
Women talking about a midlife awakening isn’t an attack on men. It’s just women finally putting words to what they’re seeing/living.
For a lot of us, midlife is when the cost becomes impossible to ignore… the things we tolerated, minimised, carried alone, or were told that’s ‘just how it is.’ Age puts that into perspective.
And yes, some men are waking up too. But the difference I see over and over is this is… women wake up and ask for more… more honesty, more effort, more accountability, more emotional presence. Men wake up and decide they don’t want to be asked for those things anymore. That’s not every man. But it’s common enough to matter.
So when women talk about waking up, it’s not about blaming or excluding anyone. It’s about refusing to stay asleep inside dynamics that no longer work.
And not everything needs a ‘what about the other side.’
Sometimes it’s just someone speaking about their lived experience. 💁🏻♀️
