As heart breaking as this was to watch, it was also deeply moving and a testament to the human spirit, the type of human spirit that we have seen less and less of over the years. So to see it en mass was truly restorative.

Lewis Capaldis vulnerability and candour is a refreshing reminder of the human struggle. And the compassion extended to him is a balance to the malevolence that I often write about.

We needed to see this, we needed reminding that there is just as much empathy as there is malice in the world.
